LAHORE, April 23: A schoolteacher was killed by robbers at Ghaziabad early on Sunday. Reports said Afseen Tahir, along with her brother and two sisters, was returning home on foot after attending the wedding ceremony of the brother of a friend when three robbers waylaid them at Punjpir Pul.
They slit the jugular vein of Afseen, 24, when she resisted their attempt to rob her of her gold ornaments.
Area people later protested the incident, raising slogans against the police for their failure to provide security to their lives and property and demanding the earliest arrest of the robbers.
Meanwhile, Chuhng and Rave Road police claimed to have smashed two gangs of dacoits and arrested their five members, besides recovering looted items and illegal weapons from them.
They were identified as Saif Khan, Imran alias Mani, Amjad and his accomplice, Bushra.
