Woman, son killed in Attock road accident

TAXILA: A woman and her son were killed and four others injured when a speeding dumper ran over their car on G.T. Road near flour mills in the limits of Hazro police station on Tuesday.

Police and rescue sources said that the ill-fated six persons belongs to same family was going in their car from Peshawar to Rawalpindi when reached near flour mill near Hazro, the accident occured.

The injured and bodies were shifted to HazroTehsil Headquarters Hospital where the condition of injured were stated to be critical. Police have registered a case against the dumper driver and launched further investigation.

Bid to smuggle narcotics foiled

Police on Tuesday foiled a bid to smuggle over 10 kilogram of narcotics from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Punjab and arrested a drugs smuggler.

According to police sources, during checking of a Lahore-bound passenger bus coming from Lahore at Attock Khurd police station limits, police recovered over 10 kilogram hashish from passenger.

Meanwhile, Attock Police arrested three proclaimed offenders (PO) wanted in three cases registered against them with three different police stations and declared PO by respective courts as they went underground after committing crime.
