PTI leader Aliya Hamza granted bail in eight cases

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) presided over by Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra has granted interim bail to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Aliya Hamza in eight separate cases, preventing her arrest until the next hearing.

During the proceedings, lawyers Dr Ali Imran, Ansar Kayani, and Malik Tariq appeared on behalf of Aliya Hamza. The court accepted her pre-arrest bail applications, setting bail bonds at Rs5,500 for each case. The hearing has been adjourned until February 7, when the court will further deliberate on the cases.

The charges against Aliya Hamza stem from FIRs registered at several police stations, including Aabpara, Tarnol, Margalla, Secretariat, Karachi Company, Ramna, and Kohsar police stations.

The court’s decision to grant interim bail provides temporary relief to the PTI leader as the legal process continues.

In a related development, Ms Hamza filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) requesting details of all cases registered against her and seeking protection from arrest.

In the petition, Aliya Hamza has made the Ministry of Interior, Inspector General of Islamabad Police, Inspector General of Punjab Police, Chief Commissioner Islamabad, and Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency parties to the case.
