JCP seeks details of nominees for PHC vacancies

ISLAMABAD: After nominating two additional judges for the Islamabad High Court (IHC), the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) is all set to consider 40 aspirants to fill nine vacant judicial offices in the Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Feb 1.

According to a letter issued by the JCP secretariat on Saturday, the members of the commission have been asked to furnish the curriculum vitae of the nominees with necessary documents through their respective email IDs along with the letter.

For the position of additional judges of PHC, the aspirants in the run are district and sessions judges Kalim Arshad Khan, Farah Jamshed, Inamullah Khan, Sofia Waqar Khattak, Sup­reme Court lawyers Abdul Fayaz, Alam Khan Ade­nz­ai, Amir Javed, Atif Khan, Aurangzeb, Bakht Jamal, Basharat Khan, Bilal Durrani, G.M. Sappal, Junaid Anwar, Kausar Ali Shah, Mansoor Tariq, Muh­a­mmad Ali Khan, Bashar Naveed, Habib Qureshi, Ikram Khan, Muhammad Inam Khan (Yousafzai), Jav­aid Khan, Muhammad Rafique, Tariq Afridi, Muk­htar Ahmad Maneri, Nasir Mahmood, Nomanul Haq, Qazi Babar Irshad, Jawad Ehsanullah, Rah­eela Bibi, Sabitullah Khan, Sadiq Ali, Salahuddin, Sar­dar Ali Raza, Shabnam Nawaz, Sh­ah Faisal, Shum­ail Butt, Syed Mudasser Ameer, Syed Shakil Khan Gillani and Syed Sikandar Hayat Shah.

To consider the recommendations for appointment of additional judges of PHC, the JCP will meet in the SC conference room on Feb 1, while the commission will meet again on Jan 23 to consider elevations for the Sindh High Court and Feb 6 for LHC.
