Amnesty International USA has called on Israeli authorities to release Gaza’s Kamal Adwan Hospital director Hussam Abu Safiya and other Palestinian health workers who were detained.

The organisation stated in a post on X, “Dr Abu Safiya is among hundreds of Palestinian health workers who have been arbitrarily detained or forcibly disappeared by Israeli forces.

“Israeli authorities must disclose his whereabouts and ensure his protection from torture and coercion.”
