PML leader shot dead by ‘rivals’

SAHIWAL, April 18: The ruling PML district vice-president was shot dead allegedly by his rivals here on Tuesday at Five Ways Chowk. Reports said Sardar Muhammad Ali Gadhi visited the office of a cellular company by his jeep (SLJ-7101). At the company’s office gate, he came across Allied Bank manager Mehr Bashir Ahmed. Both started conversation when two masked men riding a motorcycle came there and opened fire, killing Mr Gadhi on the spot and injuring the bank manager. The latter was admitted to the DHQ hospital in a serious condition. It is said that Sardar Muhammad Ali Gadhi had enmity with ex-DSP Jahan Khan.

Police are investigations.

NOTICE TO MPA: Justice Zahid Husain Bukhari of the Lahore High Court has issued notice to MPA Pir Walayat Shah Khagga of Sahiwal to appear on April 28 in connection with his BA degree which was declared as fake by the Punjab University disciplinary committee.

Pir Walayat Khagga and Asif Nawaz Fatiana advocate had contested for PP-220. The unsuccessful candidate, Nawaz Fatiana, had challenged the BA degree of Pir Khagga.
