ISLAMABAD, April 12: Pakistani gunship helicopters destroyed a suspected militant compound in a restive tribal region bordering Afghanistan late on Wednesday, killing a number of foreign insurgents, the military said.

The raid, launched on the basis of “confirmed intelligence”, targeted a hideout in Nagar village, six kilometres south of Miranshah, the main town in North Waziristan, chief military spokesman Major General Shaukat Sultan said.
