FAISALABAD, April 9: The Expo Faisalabad 2006 will commence at local Bohranwali Grounds from April 19 in which 91 renowned firms will display their products. With the name and style of Made in Faisalabad, the expo is being arranged by the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the financial collaboration of the Export Promotion Bureau.
FCCI president Mian Muhammad Haneef said that the expo would help change the local industrial and commercial patterns in a positive manner
NIGERIAN HELD: The Anti-Narcotics Force rounded up a member of an international gang of drug-trafficker from the airport here on Saturday night.
Reports said that on a tip-off, an ANF team along with the Airport Security Force intercepted Nigerian national Jeffery when he tried to catch a Dubai-bound flight. After inspection of his luggage, 500 grams of heroin was recovered from the secret parts. The arrested drug pusher was immediately shifted to the ANF office for interrogation.
Later, he was booked by the Thikriwala police.
CASE: Bahlak police on Sunday registered cases against its former SHO and 22 policemen for negligence of duties and not producing the articles recovered in various cases.
Reports said that former SHO Rajab Gandhi and other policemen had seized weapons, narcotics and other articles after investigations during the last four months, but they did not deposit the same with the official record room. Senior investigators repeatedly asked them to produce the recovered articles, but they failed to do so.
Carrying out Faisalabad’s DPO orders, cases have been registered against the accused policemen, but no arrest has so far been made.
