The United Nations is “ready to work constructively” with Donald Trump’s administration, Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said in a statement after the Republican’s stunning US election victory, AFP reports.

“I commend the people of the United States of America for their active participation in the democratic process … The United Nations stands ready to work constructively with the incoming administration to address the dramatic challenges our world is facing,” Guterres said.
