DADU, April 6: Two prisoners escaped from police custody in Mehar town when they were being taken back to prison after appearing in the courts on Thursday. The prisoners, Anwar Khoso and Abid Shah, of the district Jail Dadu, had appeared in the court of the Additional District and Sessions Judge, Mehar, and Assistant Sessions Judge, Mehar, in different cases.
One constable Zulfiqar Babar received minor injuries when he tried to capture the prisoners.
He was admitted to the taluka hospital, Mehar. The Superintendent of Dadu Jail, Ashique Ali Bozdar,told newsmen that 28 prisoners of district jail Dadu were sent to Mehar and two prisoners were sent to Khairpur Nathan Shah under police custody.
He said that Abid Shah was involved in five cases of murder kidnapping and robbery which were registered at Mehar, Weehar, Warah and Bodeh police stations and he was sent to the district jail Dadu on August 12, 2004. He said that Anwar Khoso was involved in murder, and road robberies and the cases were registered at Thariri Mohabat and Mehar police stations.
