Pims air conditioning system to be upgraded

ISLAMABAD: Ministry of National Health Services (NHS) has decided to upgrade the air-conditioning system (HVAC) of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims).

The PC-I of the project has been approved on the direction of Prime Minister’s Coordinator for Health Dr Malik Mukhtar.

“Current HVAC, which has the capacity of 1,700 tons, will be upgraded to 2,500 tons. PC-I worth of Rs 1.65 billion has been approved. The project will be completed in six months,” Dr Mukhtar said.

He said that he will continue efforts for the improvements in health sector.

He also said that patients faced difficulties due to lack of proper cooling system.

“Because of the system, atmosphere will remain pleasant during summer and winter. I will continue efforts to bring reforms in the health sector,” he said.
