SUKKUR, April 1: Hundreds of people of different localities took out a procession and demonstrated at the Rohri bypass and Thermal colony on Friday in protest against issuing of unjust and wrong detection bills and load-shedding.
Residents of Salehpat, Nooriabad, Kalri Goth, New Pind, Islam Colony, Pathan colony, Bhoosa Lane, Site Area, Old Sukkur and Bukhar Chowk observed a sit-in for an hour at the Rohri bypass and Thermal colony.
They raised slogans against Hesco officials.
UC Naib Nazim Imdad Shah, Manthar Buriro and Sanaullah Shah condemned issuing of detection bills to the poor people.
They said that Hesco officials just to cover line losses were issuing detection bills to the poor people.
They said as the summer season had started Hesco has resorted to unannounced load-shedding.
They said that due to long hours of load-shedding in their areas, people were suffering badly.
They demanded that Hesco high-ups should stop issuing detection bills and bring an end to unannounced load-shedding.
NAZIM: Taluka Nazim Naeem Siddiqui has prohibited entry of heavy vehicles in the city from 7am to 7pm daily, including Friday, for loading and unloading purpose in order to prevent danger and ensure safety and convenience to people, according to an official hand-out issued on Saturday.
NADRA: The directorate of the National Database and Registration Authority, Sukkur regional headquarters, has announced schedule of Nadra mobile vans to visit rural areas of Ghotki, Larkana, Nawabshah, Khairpur, Sukkur, Naushahro-feroze, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Dadu and Qamber-Shahdadkot districts from April 10 to April 22, to facilitate the people of respective area for issuing of computerized national identity cards.
