PESHAWAR, April 1: The Peshawar High Court on Saturday transferred and posted 46 district and additional district and sessions judges. According to an order released by the high court’s registrar, Sher Shah Khan, six of the posted judges are district and sessions judges.
Former provincial law secretary Amir Gulab Khan, who was an officer on special duty (OSD), has been posted as district and sessions judge (DSJ) Lakki Marwat.
Another judge Ghulam Mohy-ud Din Malik, who was on repatriation, has been posted as DSJ at Hangu. Muhammad Safdar Khan, who was an OSD, has been posted as Tank DSJ.
Swat District and Sessions Judge Jehangir Khan has been transferred and posted as DSJ Haripur. He will replace Syed Afsar Shah, who has been transferred as Swat DSJ. Another judge who was on repatriation, Azhar Naseem Khan, has been posted as DSJ/zila qazi at Shangla.
The lone woman additional district and sessions judge (ADSJ) in the transfers, Mrs Zarqaish Sani, has been transferred from Hangu to Lakki Marwat. She would replace Jan Muhammad who has been transferred to Haripur as ADSJ.
Four ADSJ serving in Peshawar have also been transferred: Rajab Ali Khan and Nasrullah Ghandapur to Bannu, Ahmad Sultan Tareen to Swabi and Syed Asghar Shah to Chitral.
The ADSJs posted in Peshawar include: Gohar Rehman from Dargai (Malakand), Muhammad Asim Imam, who was serving as OSD, Syed Zamrud Shah from Haripur, Muhammad Iqbal Khan from D.I.Khan and Muhammad Riaz Yousafzai from Charssada.
