Policemen face penalty

LAHORE, March 30: The privileges committee of the Punjab Assembly on Thursday recommended suspension of two DSPs and a sub-inspector for breaching privileges of three MPAs.

The committee which met with Malik Nazar Fareed Khokhar in the chair took up motions of MPAs Saqlain Anwar, Mian Latif Panu Rajput, Rai Farooq Omar Kharal and Khizar Ilyas Virk.

On the motions of Kharal and Virk, the body observed that Okara sadar investigation DSP Amanullah Bajwa and Narowal sadar DSP Taufiq Khan had apparently breached privileges of the MPAs so they must be immediately suspended from service until next hearing of the committee.

It also suspended sub-inspector Muhammad Sarfaraz of the Khairpur Tamewali police station for breaching privilege of MPA Rajput.
