BADIN, March 29: Senator Yasmin Shah has said that an amount of Rs23 million has been released out of Rs63 million allocated for the improvement of sewege and drainage system in Badin, as part of the Badin package announced by President General Musharraf. She was speaking at a gathering here on Tuesday evening. She said that the longstanding demands of the people of Badin would be met after implementation of the package. She directed the authorities concerned to get the work started within a week.
The senator also disclosed that the government had waived off agricultural loans of up to Rs100,000 for areas hit by natural calamity for which continuous efforts were being made by her. She said a notification in this regard would be issued within ten days.
AUTOPSY: Post-mortem on a woman, Asmat Sheedi, who died on Tuesday in a house where she worked, could not be conducted on Wednesday. According to reports, Asmat Sheedi, wife of Ayoub Sheedi, was working in the house of one Abdul Razzaq Memon in Abid town.
The owner of the house reported to police about the death of the woman. Badin police have failed to get the autopsy done.
