UC nazim held in double murder

SAHIWAL, March 29: Farid Town police arrested a union council nazim involved in a double murder case after cancellation of his pre-arrest bail by the Lahore High Court (Multan bench) on Tuesday.

Israr Kamboh, Kassowal’s UC No 88 nazim, along with his 10 accomplices had killed Chak 182/9-L’s UC nazim Ghulam Murtaza Bhullar at the DHQ Hospital over an old enmity on July 12, 2002. The brother of Israr was also killed when men of the deceased nazim had returned the fire.

Since then, the police had arrested seven accused, but Israr, Irshad and Fayyaz Ahmed had managed their pre-arrest bails. However, the judge cancelled the bail of Israr Ahmed, but confirmed the pre-arrest bail of Fayyaz Ahmed. While Irshad, already on pre-arrest bail, is admit to Nishtar Hospital.

KIDNAPPED: Police have failed to recover a kiln labourer, his wife and five children, who were kidnapped by a kiln owner and his accomplices from the gate of district courts on March 7.

Reports said that Muhammad Amir, his wife Haleeman, children Bashir, Naveed, Zafar, Saeed and Farzana were kept by kiln owner Nawab Khan and contractor Muhammad Ashraf at Chak 138/9-L. The family was working as bonded labourers. Asif moved the district and sessions judge for the recovery of his brother and the family. On court’s orders, bailiff Faryad Ali recovered the family and produced them before court and were set free.

The family was returning home after hearing the case on March 7, when Nawab Khan and Ashraf along with their four armed accomplices had kidnapped them in a jeep. At this, Asif again moved the additional sessions judge on whose orders a case was registered against the accused under Section 365 PPC.
