KASUR, March 29: Over 50 highway patrolling police employees here had not been given their salaries for the last nine months. These employees were appointed in June last year, but they received no pay from the department.

The situation has created anxiety and frustration among the employees. They have demanded that the government should issue their salaries immediately so that they could feed their families.

When contacted, the authorities concerned said the budget for the patrolling police had yet not been approved, and work was under way for its approval after which the employees would be paid their salaries.
