Cancellation of joint exams praised

SUKKUR March 27: Sukkur chapter of Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association (SPLA) praised Sindh cabinet decision to revoke composite exams for classes IX and X. An SPLA press release said on Monday it was federal government’s decision to hold joint exams for class IX and X and it had neither consulted Sindh education authorities nor taken the province’s peculiar conditions into consideration.

The release appreciated govt’s efforts to reform education system particularly in remote areas, and curb copy culture and corruption in education department.

The SPLA offered to hold seminars, workshops, refresher courses, and need-based professional training of teachers, to help raise the standard of education in the province, it added.
