Demand for taluka status

JACOBABAD, March 22: Residents of Mirpur Buriro staged a procession followed by a sit-in on Wednesday urging the government to raise the status of Mirpur Buriro town to taluka. The protesters led by former taluka nazim Abdul Qadir Buriro, were carrying banners and placards. The procession, raising slogans, started its march from Sardar Bungalow and after marching on various roads reached Wagon Stand where they staged a sit-in for an hour.

Speakers Abdul Qazi Buriro, union council nazims Rafique Ahmed Buriro, Zulfiqar Buriro and Babal Buriro demanded taluka status for their town.—BoC
