Two ‘TTP facilitators’ held

KARACHI: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Sunday claimed to have arrested two suspected facilitators of the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) who provided funds to the outfit through generation of money from ‘illegal’ transport business in Sohrab Goth, a CTD spokesperson said.

The CTD conducted an action in a market of Sohrab Goth and arrested two suspects, Hasan Gul Mehsud and Bashir Ahmed, who were providing financial assistance to the outlawed group, added the official.

The names of both the held suspects were included in the Fourth Schedule issued by the Sindh government in which they were shown as facilitators of the TTP.

Under directions of the TTP chief, they had purchased two 9mm pistols from the funds amounting to Rs160000. Both pistols had been seized from their custody.

The CTD had registered a terror financing case against them.
