PESHAWAR: FC programme for Pakistan Day

PESHAWAR, March 20: The Frontier Corps has made elaborate arrangements to celebrate the Pakistan Day on Thursday in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) in a befitting manner.

It has chalked out a programme for the day in collaboration with the political administration, local elders, Ulema, civil society activists, tribal intelligentsia and students. The day will dawn with special prayers in all mosques for peace, prosperity and solidarity of the country.

Special messages will be read out to troops after flag-hoisting ceremonies in all units and wings headquarters of the FC.

Highlights of the day will include student rallies in various areas of Fata and adjacent Frontier Regions.

The objective of the rallies is to condemn terrorism and promote peace.

Declamation contests will be held to highlight the significance of the day and sacrifices offered for an independent Muslim state in the subcontinent.

Sports events on the day will promote cordial relations and trust between the government and tribesmen. Matches will be played in different areas parts of Fata, Dir and Chitral districts between FC troops and local people.—APP
