LAHORE: The Punjab School Education Department (SED) has imposed a province-wide ban on summer school camps in all public and private schools until further notice.
The decision came after several private schools announced plans to hold summer camps, claiming they had received permission from the department. However, the department denied granting any permission for the camps, saying that no private school will be allowed to hold a summer camp without official approval and a departmental notification and policy in place.
Also, the Lahore District Education Authority (DEA) has directed school heads to stay until 2pm in schools in summer vacations to organise records of furniture, computer labs, and science labs. Grade four employees have been instructed to perform duties until 1:30pm. The DEA has warned of action against absent school heads, ensuring the directive is strictly followed.
