PESHAWAR, March 16: The International Organisation of Pakistani Women Engineers will set up its Peshawar chapter at the Institute of Management Sciences at Hayatabad.
The announcement was made by Engineer Ayesha Rauf at an International Women’s Day function held at the IM Sciences on Thursday.
Ms Rauf said that women could contact the UN and other international organisations and get involved in projects even at home.
Women should play their active role in development and take part in co-curricular activities along with studies, she said.
Sheeba Ajmal spoke about women’s participation in information technology and said that women lagged behind in many fields, including engineering and computer science, due to social limitations.
Engineer Ayesha, from Apwa, said that women were facing many problems and use of narcotics had become common especially among young women.
