MANSEHRA: The people of Lower Kohistan on Friday demanded of the government to create more police stations and checkposts in the district to take on outlaws and drug peddlers.
“If the police department wants to flush out outlaws and narcotics peddlers from the district effectively then it should create more checkposts and enhance force deployment here,” Amir Alam, a resident, demanded while speaking at an open kutchery in Dubair area.
Lower Kohistan district police officer Mohammad Umar heard the issues raised by the people.
Mr Alam said police stations and posts should be established in Dubair, Ranowali, Jigal and Bankhad areas.
Jamshad Gul, another resident, said the Dubair Road, which links Upper Dubair and Ranowali areas with Karakoram Highway, was washed away in last year’s flash floods, troubling people while shifting patients to hospitals. He urged the DPO to take up the road reconstruction with the authorities. He said till the road’s rehabilitation, a chairlift should be installed to facilitate the people.
Resident Hikmat Ali Khan urged the DPO to launch an effective drive against narcotics peddlers.
The DPO assured to address all issues raised by the people.
