14 injured in Quetta blast

QUETTA, March 15: Fourteen people, a number of women and children among them, were injured in a bomb explosion on the Brewery Road here on Wednesday. “The home-made device with a timer was planted near the Bilal general store at the Golimar Chowk,” superintendent of Quetta city police Qazi Wahid said. Fragments of the explosive device also hit eight passengers on a nearby local bus, he said.

“The injured include four children and three women, who were on the bus,” police said.

The bus driver received multiple head injuries and has been admitted to a hospital while other injured people went home after first-aid.

The general store was destroyed while window-panes of adjacent shops and buildings were smashed by the powerful blast. No one had claimed the responsibility for the blast till late night.
