LAHORE, March 10: Officials of the four Asian cricket Test playing countries meet in New Delhi on Sunday to prepare a joint bid being offered for 2011 World Cup.

A two-member PCB delegation comprising chairman Shaharyar M. Khan and director cricket operations Saleem Altaf, leaves for the Indian capital on Saturday to attend the moot.

Four countries- Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will be making a joint bid against Australia and New Zealand for the same event.

The Asian countries are moving slowly as they have to discuss each other’s proposal before giving it final shape. The last date for the bid is March 20.

The Asian bidders are likely to face problems in getting the vote of South Africa and Zimbabwe as they are not happy over cancellation of the Afro-Asian series.

According to an agreement, the series was to be held thrice in three years in South Africa but some Asian countries were reluctant to continue after playing once only.
