GUJRANWALA, March 9: Dacoits looted two houses, a trader and injured a property dealer on resistance in four strikes in and around the city here on Thursday. Reports said four outlaws entered the house of Iqbal Gujar on Alamgir Road, Kamoki. They held hostage the inmates and made off with Rs500,000 and 35-tola jewellery.
In the second incident, 15 bandits entered the house of landlord Aslam at Bhori village by scaling the boundary walls. They locked the inmates in a room and took away Rs200,000 in cash, gold ornaments and other valuables. A trader, Shahid Malik, was on his way by his motorcycle on Jinnah Road when two motorcyclists intercepted him. They snatched Rs80,000 at gunpoint and also drove away with his bike.
In another incident, property dealer Muhammad Sharif of Naushera Road was on his way following withdrawing Rs250,000 from a bank branch when two robbers riding a motorcycle intercepted him. They took away the amount and injured him on offering resistance. He was rushed to DHQ hospital in a critical condition. — Correspondent
