Floral extravaganza kicks off at Racecourse Park

LAHORE: A two-week long spring floral exhibition organised by the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) opened at the Racecourse Park on Saturday.

According to a spokesperson, the exhibition is showcasing over 50 varieties of flowers, including azaleas, cyclamens, petunias, and tulips with more than 60,000 flowers on display. He says the annual floral extravaganza is aimed at celebrating the harmonious relationship between horticulture and water, coinciding with the World Water Day, observed on Mar 22 (Friday).

The star attractions are the topiaries of animals such as giraffes and birds like peacocks.

The park saw a flow of men, women and children visiting the show, taking selfies and photos with the flowers.

Additionally, a minister inaugurated a new 550 meters long track for fitness enthusiasts, along with a flower shop near the park’s entrance. The track was made of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber.
