LAHORE, March 8: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz will address a convention of PML workers at the Minar-i-Pakistan on March 23. Party’s provincial secretary-general Chaudhry Zaheeruddin told a convention of the party’s Lahore office-bearers on Wednesday that three chief ministers — Pervaiz Elahi, Arbab Ghulam Rahim and Jam Mohammad Yousaf — would also address.

PML workers from all districts and tehsils of the country would participate in the convention, and separate enclosures would be set up for all provinces, he said. He was critical of those calling Bush’s visit to Pakistan a failure. He said some people thought that the visit had been fruitful as the US president had given nothing to Pakistan. In fact, he said, Pakistan had not sought anything from the visiting president, and thus there should be no criticism if Bush had not given anything.

He said the PML government had given up the begging culture and decided to stand on its own feet to meet its defence and other requirements.
