DADU, March 8: The Taluka Nazim Dadu, Naban Khan Lund, has said that the World Bank has approved Rs500 million for projects of drainage, water supply and sanitation in Dadu town. He said that an overhead bridge, bus terminal, Sabzi Mandi would be constructed outside the Dadu town at a cost of Rs 50 million.
At a press conference here on Wednesday, he said that a double carriageway at cost of Rs20 million would be constructed from the DPO office to the degree college. He said that CC blocks were constructed in different parts of the city at a cost of Rs six million.
He said that buildings for the meat market and 100 streets were also constructed.
He said that Dadu city was selected as a model city by the World Bank in Sindh where different development schemes would be launched. About recovery of taxes, he said that TMA was recovering Rs 500,000 on the head of different taxes. He appealed to the Sindh and the district governments to advance a loan of Rs30 million so that development schemes could be carried out in Dadu city.
SPSF: Activists of SPSF staged a demonstration outside press club here on Wednesday to protest registration of cases against SPSF Sukkur division leader, Noor Nawaz Zardari.
They were led by SPSF leaders Amir Bux Solangi, Manzoor Ali Khoso.
ZAKAT CHIEF: A large number of people of Deh Moundar, Dadu taluka, took out a rally to protest against taluka zakat administrator here on Wednes-day.
They were led by the councillors of UC Moundar, Farooq Jatoi, Samano Khan Oad, Mohammad Sharif Shahani and Manzoor Leghari.
The leaders said that Azizullah Jatoi was appointed as chairman of deh Moundar 15 days back but he had not paid 30 per cent commission against every cheque, hence he was removed. They appealed to the DCO and the district nazim to take notice of the issue and reinstate Azizullah Jatoi as chairman of deh Moundar.
The taluka zakat administrator Dadu, Karamullah Solangi refuted the allegations of the councillors and said that he has no power to remove or appoint any chairman of deh.
PROTEST: A large number of residents of Juman Bhurt Village, Naushahro Feroze district, staged a demonstration at the DPO chowk here on Wednesday in protest against police failure to arrest the accused involved in the murder of Mumtaz Bhurt, who was killed near the district court Dadu.
The protesters were led by the mother of the deceased.
In-charge Crime Intelligence Cell Dadu, Inspector Salahuddin Memon, assured the protesters that all the accused nominated in the FIR would be arrested within 24 hours. Later, they dispersed peacefully.
KILLED: One person was killed near the district court here on Tuesday allegedly on pretext of karo-kari.
Mumtaz Bhurt 30, resident of Tharushah of district Naushahro Feroze, had come to attend the court for hearing of a case. He was shot dead near court premises.
The Dadu police arrested an accused Munawar Bhurt and recovered a pistol from his possession.
