Maulana Khuzaima Sami, a local religious leader associated with Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Sami (JUI-S) and Darul Uloom Haqqania, has lashed out at the election of Maryam as chief minister Punjab, claiming that the rule of a woman over men is against Sharia and could lead to further downfall and destruction of the society.

The cleric made the claim in a press release issued by Darul Uloom Haqqania.
