CHARSADDA: A three-day spring festival organised for special children and students of private schools and colleges concluded with a colourful ceremony at Abdul Wali Khan Sports Complex, Charsadda, on Friday.

The children presented tableaus, a march past, national anthem and songs during the event titled Rokhana (shining) Charsadda.

They also participated in various sports competitions and literary programmes. Different stalls were also set up on the occasion to highlight the local culture.

Provincial minister for sports and culture Syed Fakhar Jahan was the chief guest on the occasion.

Army’s Commanding Officer Colonel Abid Aziz, Peshawar division commissioner Zubair Khan, Charsadda deputy commissioner Adnan Farid, district police officer Nazir Khan, director general sports Abdullah Nasir, additional deputy commissioner Shahbaz Khattak and other officials were in attendance.

MAN KILLED: A man was killed allegedly over a property dispute in Sardaryab Gulabad area on Friday.

Agra Bala police station lodged a case on the complaint of Asfandyar, who said that he along with his brother, Sayyar Gul was standing at the Sardaryab Chowk when Syedul Imam and Islam came there and opened fire on them. He said Sayyar died on the spot, while he escaped unhurt.

After registering the case, the police started making efforts to arrest the killers.
