On International Women’s Day, PTI’s Mian Aslam Iqbal has demanded that “innocent women behind bars be freed” — a likely reference to jailed female PTI leaders.

In a post on X, Iqbal praised women who were successful in different walk of life. He mentioned women PTI leaders and activists — including Dr Yasmin Rashid, Aliya Hamza, Sanam Javed, Rehana Dar and Khadija Shah — and said they had given “exemplary sacrifices for democracy in Pakistan”.
