Former caretaker prime minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has expressed his “heartfelt gratitude” and said that it has been an honour for him to serve the nation during this “critical time”.

“I am proud of the progress we’ve made together,” Kakar said in a post on X.

“Wishing the incoming government success and prosperity as they lead Pakistan into the future. Farewell, and may Pakistan continue to prosper and thrive,” he said.
