A session of the Sindh Assembly to elect the new provincial chief executive has begun with Speaker Owais Qadir Shah in the chair.

The PPP has nominated Murad Ali Shah for the position of chief minister. Meanwhile, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has fielded Ali Khurshidi.
