The much-awaited session of the Sindh Assembly has begun with outgoing speaker Agha Siraj Durrani in the chair.

Currently, the recitation of the Holy Quran is underway. The provincial legislature will elect the new speaker and deputy speaker today.

Nine PTI-backed independents are in attendance and will be taking the oath. A total of 65 PPP lawmakers and 41 opposition members are present in the house.
