BAHAWALPUR: Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman says Sadiq Public School (SPS) will continue to uphold its high standards of traditions, education and students’ character-building.He was delivering his presidential address at his former institution’s 70th Founder Day, marking school’s platinum jubilee celebrations here on Sunday.
The governor paid homage to late Bahawalpur Nawab Muhammad Sadiq Khan Abbasi V for the establishment of this institution which, he said, was like a beacon of light not only for the country but for students from abroad as well.
He expressed the hope that SPS would continue to play its role to produce best talented leadership.
In his welcome address, SPS Principal David Dowdles gave an overall review of the curriculum and extra-curriculum activities of students and said that the school’s out-going students served in different sectors in the country and abroad.
The governor gave away prizes, shields and gold medals to over 150 boy and girl students of all classes for their best performance in the academic and sport activities. The governor inaugurated an exhibition of science projects prepared by students. He also laid the foundation-stone of a new academic block and a boarding house in the school.
