DERA GHAZI KHAN, March 3: The district nazim and naib nazim have developed differences over the election of Public Safety Commission.
It is learnt that nazim Maqsood Leghari and naib nazim Dost Muhammad Khosa developed differences on the election of three members, two men and one woman.
They reportedly held meetings of their groups separately and opposed candidates of the other group.
The Punjab government has appointed Akhund Raza Karim as coordinator and he will chose three members (two men and a woman) of the six-man commission from the notables of the district. The elections will be supervised by the district and sessions judge.
It may be remembered that the district nazim and naib nazim contested elections jointly against Jamal Leghari group. The difference has dented their alliance.
The previous Public Safety Commission failed to deliver as it was divided into two hostile groups throughout its term.
