LAHORE, March 2: Ambassador of Mali Amadou Modi Diali has said lack of information is the major bottleneck in promotion of bilateral trade between Pakistan and his country.

Talking to Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Mian Shafqat Ali and office-bearers here on Thursday he stressed the need for frequent exchange of trade delegations and holding joint trade exhibitions so that the business communities of both the countries could benefit from the available trade opportunities.

He said Mali had a population of only 12 million but had a great potential for Pakistani businessmen. They could not only start joint ventures in his country but also invest in five special trade zones.

Mian Shafqat said the LCCI would extend full cooperation to Mali chamber for enhancing bilateral trade as the two countries were members of OIC and enjoyed cordial diplomatic relations. Pakistan was importing cotton from Mali and exporting rice and woven cotton fabrics. There was also a lot of scope for joint ventures in food processing, textiles, fertilisers and construction sectors.
