LAHORE, March 2: A schoolboy died after he fell down from his house’s rooftop while trying to catch a stray kite in Muhafiz Town at Chuhng on Thursday.
Javed told police that his eight-year-old son Hasan, along with other children of the family, went to the rooftop of his house to watch the flying kites. He added his son ran after a stray kite and fell down from a considerable height.
Hasan got critical head injuries, the police said. They added the injured boy was rushed to the Lahore General Hospital, where he died despite getting treatment. The body has been handed over to the family without an autopsy.
The boy was the fourth victim of the kite-related accidents within the last few days. Earlier, a college student, a minor girl, and a Wapda lineman had been killed while several others injured in such incidents.
