Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar stated that those who propagated conspiracy theories about the scheduled elections have been proven wrong, as the elections are set to proceed on February 8.

Speaking in Geo News programme Jirga, the premier said several individuals had alleged that the interim government was attempting to extend its tenure, a claim that has proven unfounded.

“We will hand over the reins to the new government and go home,” he said.
