Human development

IT is crucial to emphasise on continuous learning, innovation and cultivation of growth mindset to foster personal development. Setting clear goals and allowing individuals to decide their future based on their strengths, skills and passions contribute to a fulfilling journey. Patience, commitment and consistency play an integral role, while time management enhances productivity and reduces anxiety.

The latest United Nations Human Development Report reveals a concerning trend for Pakistan. Experiencing a seven-slot drop in the Human Develop-ment Index (HDI) ranking for 2021-22, the country is now ranked at 161 among 192 states. The contributing factors include insufficient progress in education, health, and income indicators, placing Pakistan behind its regional counterparts. The data underscores the need for targeted efforts to address these disparities, ensuring a more robust foundation for personal and collective growth.

Dr Adil Najam’s words, “The youth in Pakistan are not a problem to be solved; they are a potential to be unleashed,” really resonate, emphasising on the urgent need to investe in education and opportunities for the younger generation.
