HYDERABAD, Feb 27: A resident of Goth Darya Khan Talpur in the Matiari district has blamed the Hala police for illegally detaining his brother. Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Monday, Ghulam Nabi Solangi, son of Mitho Solangi, alleged that police had arrested his brother, Ali Anwar, 10 days ago. He said his brother was being tortured.

He said that when he and some other people met Hala police station SHO Allan Abbasi and ASI Mir Haider Ali Talpur, they first denied the arrest but on intervention of some people of Hala, he was allowed to meet his brother. He said marks of torture were visible on his brother’s body.

Thereafter, he said, his brother was shifted from the police station to some other place.

He complained that his brother had not been produced in any court and feared that a charge-sheet might be presented against him in some false case or he might even be killed.

He appealed for justice and release of his brother.
