WHO chief thanks UAE for ‘extensive support’ to alleviate Gazans’ suffering
World Health Organisation chief Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has met the president of the United Arab Emirates to discuss the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
In a post on X, Dr Tedros said in his meeting with Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, he expressed his appreciation for the UAE’s “extensive support” to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinians.
The said support included the initiative to treat 1,000 injured children and 1,000 cancer patients from the Gaza strip in UAE hospitals, as well as establishing a field hospital in the Palestinian enclave.
