US Senator Bernie Sanders has urged Congress to reject the $10bn in unconditional military aid being considered for Israel to continue its “illegal, immoral, brutal, and grossly disproportionate war” against the Palestinian people.

“And, most importantly for Americans, we must understand that Israel’s war against the Palestinian people has been significantly waged with US bombs, artillery shells, and other forms of weaponry,” he wrote in a post on X.

“And the results have been catastrophic.”
