ISLAMABAD, Feb 24: A government spokesman has said that Pakistan continues to be free of bird flu. The spokesman for the ministry of health said on Friday that the government was fully alive to the situation and the ministries of health and food and agriculture were working in close coordination.

The spokesman urged the media “to avoid speculative reports” in this connection.

He said that the media would be promptly informed of any change of status and hoped the country would continue to remain free of bird flu.
