Robbers on the rampage

GUJRANWALA, Feb 23: Dacoits looted cash and valuables in six strikes in and around the city here on Thursday.

Reports said five robbers forced their entry into the house of industrialist Haji M. Siddique Sheikh in People’s Colony by scaling the boundary wall. They held hostage the inmates and took away Rs75,000, gold jewellery, three cell phones and other electronics goods.

Five bandits entered the house of trader Mumtaz Ahmad in Irfat Colony, tied the family members with ropes and made off with Rs54,000, ornaments and other valuables. Three robbers sneaked into the house of Khalid Javed Mughal in Judicial Colony, held hostage the inmates at gunpoint and took away cash worth Rs17,500, gold jewellery and a motorcycle (GAR-3828).

Four robbers stormed into the house of schoolteacher Mubinullah in Kalasski, made off with Rs25,000, ornaments and other valuables at gunpoint. Two gangsters intercepted property dealer Jamshed in Kohlowala, looted Rs17,000 and drove away with his motorcycle (GAP-1913). Three men took away a TV set of milkman Zulfikar from Tetley.
