Protesters, also joined by Pakistan Seraiki Party activists, gathered at the Kutchery Chowk where a heavy police contingent was already on guard to avoid any untoward situation.
They chanted slogans against what they termed a double standard of the West as regard to the ‘freedom of expression’. Prominent among protesters were Khwaja Rizwan Alam, Mukhtar Awan, Habibullah Shakir, Rana Noorul Hasan and Rafiq Rijwana. The protesters later dispersed peacefully.
