Iran’s ministry of defence has said in a statement that Israel “will pay the price” for the death of Sayyed Razi Mousavi, a member of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), in an Israeli air attack in Syria, Al Jazeera reports.

“Our response will be strict and effective, but will not provide room for any Israeli exploitation,” the statement added.

Mousavi was a senior adviser in the IRGC, responsible for coordinating the military alliance between Syria and Iran.
