Women, children killed in Israeli attacks on central Gaza
Al Jazeera correspondent in Gaza, Hani Mahmoud, said there were death and destruction in the al-Maghazi and al-Bureij refugee camps over night. Some 100 people have been killed in the last 12 hours, with a majority of them women and children.
He said the bombs fell on homes and buildings, destroying neighbourhoods and infrastructure, such as roads leading in and out of the refugee camps.
The Al Jazeera correspondent described that the aid scale of Israeli air raids had increased in magnitude after the UNSC resolution was passed on Friday (boosting aid to the strip).
There is a huge gap between the sheer level of destruction being caused by Israeli forces and the promise of more aid, Mahmoud said, adding that there is a severe shortage of necessities including clean drinking water and medical supplies.
